The opportunity for brand new pillows. So I want to show you how I added these pillows to this couch. To give a refreshed look. Pillows are what I call the workhorse of home design because with a few well-placed pillows it will freshen a space and give a whole new color palette. So here we've got a great mid-century, couch, neutral, color. So much you can do with that. So I'm going to show us how to finish this out. I'm gonna start with a throw. Then I'm gonna put across the back and let's see based on whether or not you fold it in half, you might have a fringed edge and a straight edge. So I personally like the straight edge because it's just a little cleaner and I think in this case it fits our aesthetic. So I'm gonna put this over the back of our couch and just kind of check to make sure it's even across the bottom.
There and it just kind of gives a nice anchor to the pillows, so next we'll take our pillows and add those in I like to start from the outer edge kind of work into the center. So in this case, I'm going to anchor each sign with black pillows, which I have here so for these I like to kind of fluff them up on all four sides like this before I place them. So when I do that it'll kind of give a fullness here, then I'll place it and then I'll do a final sort of karate chop. Some people like the karate chop and some people, don't I do happen to be a fan of the karate chop. So I will do that and I like it because it really does give a fullness, so that's one edge and then we'll do the other edge as well. So fluff out all four edges like this and place it kind of at a 45-degree angle and a nice little karate chop that kind of anchors the edge then we'll kind of work. Our way in the next color is sort of dusty, mauve, color and I'll. Do the same thing, I'll kind of fluff up the edges here and then I'll place it that and I'll do a great job and a nice karate Chuck there.
Finally, for the center, I have this one, which is a nice and decorative pattern, and I like it because it's kind of mid-century inspired. So it fits our aesthetic that we have here in the living room and it has again the neutral color of the couch, and then it has the mauve color, okay and then I'll place the final pillow here and give it one final karate chop. So this is our refreshed couch with all of our fresh pillows. So let me know in the comments below if you've got any fresh, clever ways that you like to use pillows in your home and if you are a fan of the karate chop.
